L&L Monuments And Engravings is a Family owned and operated local business serving Yuba-Sutter, Butte County and all of Northern California since 1986. We regularly serve all local cemeteries including Sutter, Gridley, Live Oak, Sierra View, Oroville, Sheridan and Roseville Cemeteries.
It has always been the goal of the L & L Monuments and Engravings to help the community by creating beautiful granite and marble memorials and headstones for reasonable prices while guiding the family through the process every step of the way. We pride ourselves on having great customer service and going above and beyond our customers expectations in order to create a lasting memorial that they will enjoy for generations.
We offer many types of memorials and monuments including custom hand carved Angels, Crosses, and Benches. L & L can also help with many other memorial needs including Engravings, Bronze Plaques, Veterans Memorial acceptance and installations, as well as working with the cemetery for approval on your behalf.

Robert Vander Ploeg- Owner/President
Robert began working in the Memorial industry in 2006 and was trained by the original owner Peter Littlefield who founded L & L Monuments in 1986. Robert and his wife Kristin bought the business in February of 2019 from the second owner Peggy who had worked alongside Peter since 1995 taking over the business from 2007 until 2018.
Robert is well trained in all aspects of the Memorial business and enjoys working with families one on one to create a one of a kind memorial for their loved one. Robert has a great working relationship with all our local cemeteries and is very knowledgeable of all aspects of creating a headstone that will last and stand out. Robert does every step of creating a monument from the design, engraving, setting and installation.
Kristin Vander Ploeg- Owner/VP & Office Manager
Kristin with her Husband Robert took over L & L in 2019. Kristin started working in the Memorial Industry at L & L in Spring 2020 after having their Daughter, Sophie. Kristin loves to provide a comforting experience allowing the family to ask any and all questions they may have and look at all available options to them. She enjoys learning the industry to better provide for our families on their task of finding the right headstone for their loved ones. Kristin makes it a point to work closely with families and ensures that the process of getting a memorial stone/tombstone for a loved one is a smooth and easy process. Kristin will do all she can to make the process as stress free as possible and help to contact all cemeteries for any questions or approvals you may need for your memorial. Please always feel free to ask Kristin any questions you may have and let her help you every step of the way.
You will often find Miss Lady the Shop Dog around the office with her Human. Miss Lady loves to peek over the door of the back office to say Hi and welcome you in to L & L Monuments.
David Uriostegui- Owner/Director of Operations
David came into the memorial industry in the fall of 2021. Long time friend of Robert and Kristin, David saw that he had skills and knowledge that could help to expand the business and help to continue the excellent customer service L&L Monuments is known for. David looks forward to doing more with the local community and to spreading the word about what L&L Monuments can do for all of your memorial needs.
